In-House Pet Diagnostics
Need the results of your pet’s testing as quickly as possible?
We understand. Quick and accurate diagnostics can make a difference in caring for pets and giving pet parents the answers they need. Our team at Coops Creek Veterinary Clinic performs in-house diagnostics in our lab to help us diagnose and treat your pet efficiently, all without the need for lengthy waits or outside lab referrals for common diagnostics.

Lab Work with Advanced Veterinary Equipment
Our in-house laboratory is equipped with the latest technology to perform a variety of common diagnostic tests for cats and dogs. By having these capabilities on-site, we can provide fast and reliable results, often during the same visit. In-house pet diagnostic services include:
- Complete Blood Count (CBC): This blood test helps us evaluate your pet’s overall health by measuring red and white blood cell counts, platelet levels, and more. It’s often used to detect infections, anemia, and other blood disorders.
- Blood Chemistry Panel: This test provides insight into your pet’s organ function, including the liver, kidneys, and pancreas. It helps veterinarians monitor for conditions such as kidney disease, liver problems, and diabetes.
- Fecal Testing: A fecal exam checks for parasites like worms or protozoa in your pet’s digestive system.
- Urinalysis: This test evaluates your pet’s kidney function and checks for urinary tract infections, kidney disease, or other issues related to your pet’s urinary system.
- Heartworm Testing: Our in-house heartworm test can quickly determine whether your pet is infected.
- Parvovirus Testing: If your dog is showing symptoms of parvovirus, such as vomiting or diarrhea, our in-house parvo test provides quick results so we can start treatment immediately.
- Feline Combo Test: This test screens for feline leukemia virus (FeLV) and feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV), two serious diseases that can affect cats.
- Cytology: A cytology involves examining cells under a microscope to detect infections, growths, or other abnormalities. This can be used to evaluate skin masses, ear infections, and more.
- And more!
FAQS for Pet Lab Work
Do you offer X-rays and ultrasounds as part of your diagnostics?
Yes, in addition to our in-house lab diagnostics, we also offer X-ray and ultrasound services. These imaging tools help us visualize your pet’s internal organs, bones, and soft tissues, providing a comprehensive picture of their health.
How fast will I get the results from my pet’s in-house diagnostics?
Most of our in-house diagnostic tests provide results within the same visit, allowing us to quickly diagnose your pet’s condition and begin treatment right away.
Do you perform all diagnostic testing in-house?
No, we cannot perform all tests in our clinic. For advanced testing, samples will be sent out to a trusted reference lab partner. Getting results back can take several days to weeks depending on a variety of factors. Once the results are received, you will be contacted to discuss them and talk about next steps if needed.
What should I bring to my pet’s diagnostic appointment?
If your pet has never been seen with us before, bring any relevant medical records, including previous test results or medication history. This helps us build a complete picture of your pet’s health. If your pet is due for a fecal or urine test, we may ask you to bring a recent sample as well.
